One of the major projects of this course is that you will create a WebQuest. Here are the details of the assignment.

Create a WebQuest from scratch by following these steps:

1.Choose a topic that can be found somewhere in the Quebec Education Program (search QESN for ideas).

2.Do a quick search to see if there are resources on the Web to support that topic. Be sure to also use the WebQuest page and QuestGarden search options.

3.Decide on a task that you would give students that would focus their learning to meet the standard you've chosen. Use the Taskonomy Page for guidance to help you craft a task that goes beyond merely answering questions or retelling what was read.

4.Use Quest Garden to create a group webquest instead of downloading the student page template . The work will be done online from home. I will give the group codes during class five. Here's class projects from last semester (Spring 09). Here's two good examples from the Spring 09 class:

• Rebecca's project webquest on "Save Peeko the Polar Bear"
• Natasha & Sophie's webquest "A New World"
  

5.Continue completing the template in this order: Evaluation, Process, Introduction, Conclusion. Follow the prompts to finish out the page. Complete the Teacher's Page after the student page is done.

6.Upload your WebQuest to your storage space and send me the URL. We need to do this as your Quest Garden account expires in 30 days.

You may (and I encourage you to) work on a team to complete this project. To give you enough time to do this project as well as you can, this project is not due until week 8..

I will use the WebQuest evaluation rubric to assess your work.

This project is worth 10% of your final grade.
